Canterbury’s City Manager Philippe Esclasse has expressed “shame” at the state of Canterbury’s litter problem.
Following the City’s annual Big Clean Up event this week, Esclasse spoke to us about plans to expand the operation next year, going beyond litter. He hopes to incorporate air pollution and more into 2012’s events to make sure that “we are presenting as best as we can.”
The aim is to rid the city of the shame he feels when tourists explore.
